Reflexology
Taking Steps Towards Optimum Health and Wellbeing

Reflexology works on the principle that the body is divided into 10 longitudinal zones, running from the midline of the body, to the outer edge, on both sides.
Pressure is applied to specific points on the feet, called reflexes, which correspond to particular glands and organs of the body. When a certain reflex point receives pressure, the corresponding organ benefits, and so do all other organs within the same zone.
As the therapist works across each foot, they will detect imbalances within the clients body by feeling textures beneath the skin; there may be a difference in the texture of the skin in a certain area, or the client may feel tenderness there.
The whole of the body is treated, as all our body’s systems are interconnected, and an imbalance in one area will affect another indirectly.
At the end of the treatment, all the body’s systems will have been stimulated, allowing energy to flow freely. The body’s own healing mechanisms will be encouraged, so that balance can be ultimately achieved once more.
